Breast Imaging-Section Chief

The Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, MO, is seeking a Section Chief to lead an academically committed group of Breast Imaging Radiologists at the Joanne Knight Breast Health Center located at the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, an NCI designated cancer center

The section has a long history of clinical excellence, teaching excellence, national engagement and camaraderie. We provide comprehensive, breast imaging services in a highly advanced, clinically robust environment. All equipment is tomosynthesis enabled, including our mobile mammography van.  Co-located with the breast surgery clinic, the breast center serves as a tertiary referral center for complex cases.  With over 28,000 screening exams performed at the breast center and our satellite screening locations, there is an excellent case mix for teaching and research.  Collaboration among surgeons, medical oncology and radiation oncology occurs dynamically in clinical, and formally during a weekly tumor-board conference.  Abundant translational research opportunities exist within the University.   Our diagnostic radiology residency is the largest in the country. Our breast imaging fellowship program has trained dozens of fellows several of whom now serve in leadership roles across the country.  The ideal candidate will advance our clinical, research and educational programs while continuing our reputation as a national leader in the breast cancer imaging.

This position plays an important role in leading the clinical, teaching and research missions of the Breast Imaging section.  Applicants should be ABR certified, and fellowship trained in Breast Imaging Radiology with prior leadership experience. Academic rank will be dependent on qualifications. The desired candidate should be an outstanding leader, innovator, clinician, and educator with proven ability to lead and grow our breast imaging services.
