The Washington University Pain Center in the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate has five or more years of post-graduate training in synaptic physiology and pain. Expertise in pain behavior, patch clamp electrophysiology from isolated cells and spinal cord slices, and optogenetic approaches are critical. Successful candidates will have a strong publication history and be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully compete for external funding. Proficiency in ex vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics, biochemistry, immunohistochemistry, and behavioral pharmacology are prerequisites.
