Pathologist - Division of Anatomic and Molecular Pathology at Memorial Hospital Belleville in Belleville, IL

The Department of Pathology & Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine is recruiting a third Pathologist (at any faculty rank) to join the Division of Anatomic and Molecular Pathology at Memorial Hospital Belleville in Belleville, IL (in the greater St. Louis metropolitan region). The successful candidate will provide expertise in general surgical pathology and cytopathology for the Memorial hospitals and clinics. Board certification in anatomic pathology and clinical pathology, and eligibility for licensure in the State of Illinois, are required.

 

Excellence in diagnostic surgical pathology and laboratory medicine is expected. The clinical service of the Memorial hospitals and clinics includes a wide variety of interesting surgical pathology cases, with approximately 8,000 surgical cases per year. The laboratory medicine operations of the Memorial system include standard chemistry, hematology, and microbiology diagnostic services, and a blood bank that annually transfuses approximately 4,000 units of red cells. The Memorial laboratory is CAP certified, and also has an AABB certification.

While the pathologist position is based in Belleville, IL the professional practice components will be supported by and integrated into the operations of the Department of Pathology and Immunology. Thus, the pathologist will interact with, and be supported by, other pathology faculty across the full range of subspecialty areas in both surgical pathology and laboratory medicine. Individuals completing their fellowship training, and also individuals who are in practice, are encouraged to apply. Salary is based on background and experience.
