Assistant Professor, Research Track

The Department of Developmental Biology, Washington University in St. Louis, invites applications for an immediately available Assistant Professor position on the Research track.

The McNeill lab has a broad interest in how tissue growth and tissue patterning are regulated in development. We are seeking an outstanding applicant to join at the level of Research Assistant Professor. The applicant is expected to have a PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant area, including, but not limited to cell biology, genetics and biochemistry. Knowledge of mouse genetics and development is essential, and understanding of nuclear envelope dynamics or Drosophila genetics is a plus. Potential research projects include understanding how Fat cadherins control planar polarity and the Hippo pathway, and how a conserved nuclear envelope protein regulates fertility in flies and mice. 

 

Candidates must have a PhD, and at least 6 years of postdoctoral experience.

Requires experience, accomplishment, and demonstrated productivity, through publications.  Individuals must be highly motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively, possess initiative and excellent project management abilities, excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, and a desire to learn, lead, and expand their interests and expertise. Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
