Research Division Director

The Program in Physical Therapy at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis invites nominations and applications for the role of Research Division Director.  We invite nominations and applications for a 12-month tenure track faculty at the Associate or Full professor level. We seek an innovative researcher who can oversee the full scope of movement science research being conducted within the Program.  Physical therapy licensure or eligibility for licensure is not required but is preferred.  Primary responsibilities of the role include mentoring of new investigators, development and management of annual budget for the division, oversight of policies and infrastructure related to research, and pursuit of an independent line of funded research. 

  • PhD or equivalent degree
  • Research excellence as demonstrated by publications, extramural funding, and a history of nationally/internationally recognized research
  • Prior experience and success in an academic leadership role
  • Ability to work with diverse students and colleagues and foster an inclusive environment
  • Demonstrates passion, clarity, vision, resourcefulness, strategic thinking, and patience

Competitive start-up package commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and needs is available with this position. Teaching and service expectations will be appropriate to permit adequate time for administrative duties and the pursuit of a rigorous research program.  Potential for collaboration and secondary appointment with other departments and schools is high.
