Pediatric Transplant Infectious Diseases #1010145

The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Washington University, in conjunction with St. Louis Children’s Hospital, is seeking an early to mid-level faculty member in the area of pediatric transplant ID.  This position will embed with our Stem Cell Transplant team within Hematology/Oncology to provide pre-SCT ID consultation regarding serologies, vaccinations, and existing microbiology of transplant candidates; recommendations for peri-transplant antimicrobials and post-transplant prophylaxis; and ongoing management of infectious issues post-SCT.  Interface with the Antimicrobial Stewardship team, a large and established clinical pharmacist team, and other members of the multidisciplinary SCT team and Hematology-Oncology service is expected.  The position also involves teaching of PID fellows, pediatric residents, medical students, and other trainees in didactic sessions, in clinics, and on patient rounds.  This position is encouraged to participate in the submission of grant applications with colleagues within and outside of Pediatrics, but external grant support is not a requisite.  Participation in patient-oriented research and data collection, as well as clinically relevant manuscript submissions, are encouraged.  This position may also interact, to a lesser extent and as needed, with the pediatric solid-organ transplant populations (lung, liver, heart, kidney).

ABP Sub-board certification in Pediatric Infectious Diseases; experience with pre- and post-transplant management of pediatric SCT patients, and familiarity with relevant SCT and ID guidelines.  SOT experience helpful but not required.
