Department of Neurology Faculty Position joint with the Division of Biostatistics
This research track faculty position which is joint between the Department of Neurology (primary) and the Division of Biostatistics (secondary) will provide statistical support in observational studies and other research projects on Alzheimer's disease (AD) and aging, primarily to the DIAN observational study. Specific responsibilities include performing data analyses for both cross sectional and longitudinal studies statistical packages (SAS) or R or STATA or others, assisting investigators in the design of experiments, clinical trials and epidemiological studies, primarily power analyses, providing statistical consultations to the AD-research community at the Medical School, and developing statistical methods addressing scientific challenges in AD and aging research.
Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related fields
-Experience in designing and analyzing longitudinal and observational studies. -Experience in understanding statistical applications in AD and aging research, especially in the area of longitudinal statistical methodologies. -Experience in biomarker, cognitive and imaging analyses. -Demonstrated strong knowledge in the use of SAS and R, with the ability to perform statistical analysis, exercise good judgment, and interpret results. -Advanced knowledge of applied statistics desirable (e.g. survival and time series analysis). Familiarity with clinical concepts preferred. -First author publications involving real data.
Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additional opportunities exist in many disciplines, including training in biostatistics and genetic epidemiology.
