Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Faculty Appointment, Clinician Track

The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM)/St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH) seeks Pediatric Intensivists at the Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor level for appointment on the Clinician track. The major criterion for appointment to the Clinician track is evidence of excellence in clinical care and of effective clinical teaching skills across multiple learner domains. Successful faculty candidates will be committed, effective teachers, outstanding clinicians, and skilled team builders. They will join a faculty of 26 pediatric intensivists who provide clinical care, perform clinical and basic science research, and mentor 15 critical care fellows. The activities of the Division are diverse and include cutting-edge, multidisciplinary, family-centered patient care in a 30-bed, high-acuity, high-complexity PICU (expanding to 40 beds in 2017) and provision of all forms of intensive care for children with diverse critical illnesses including ACS Level I Trauma Care, solid organ and bone marrow transplantation, and all forms of pediatric cancer. The Division participates in the education of pediatric residents, emergency medicine residents, and pediatric critical care fellows in ACGME-accredited training programs, as well as medical students from Washington University School of Medicine. The ideal candidate should be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and board certified in Pediatrics.

The successful candidates will have focused interests in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine that can be pursued with the support of the rich sets of resources and academically productive faculty members in the Division, in the Department of Pediatrics, at Washington University School of Medicine, and at other Schools at Washington University.
