Pediatric Palliative Care Physician
Pediatric Palliative Care Physician, board certified or board eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine to provide pediatric palliative care consultation in various locations within St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Position will participate in interdisciplinary consultation services, facilitate discussion and clarification of goals of care, and will collaborate with the primary medical team and community agencies throughout a child’s disease trajectory. Will educate medical staff in all locations of care regarding pediatric palliative care, including but not limited to: appropriate pain and symptom management, grief, interdisciplinary approaches to caring for children and families facing life-threatening or life-limiting conditions, care and will assist in educational, research and advocacy efforts for children with complex chronic and/or life-threatening conditions and may participate in palliative medicine fellowship training. This position will also provide on-call medical coverage for inpatient service and BJC WINGS hospice and supportive
• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy • Board certified or eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine • Experience working with medically complex conditions, including direct provision of end-of-life care. • Experience caring for children in diverse locations of care including acute and/or long term care facilities, outpatient clinics and home. • Experience working within an interdisciplinary team
